Accommodations Toolbox: Hearing
Accessing Content Audibly
Hearing features allow students to customize how sound is delivered on their device so they can hear, understand, and interact with content more easily.
Live Captions: Live captions place spoken words as text on the screen, helping students follow along with audio and spoken content more easily.
Closed Captions: Closed captions display spoken dialogue and important sounds as text during pre-recorded videos, allowing students to read along with audio content.
Transcriptions: Transcriptions provide a written record of spoken content, allowing students to read, review, and revisit information at their own pace.
Video Audio Alerts: Visual audio alerts provide visual cues for sounds and notifications, allowing students to notice important audio information without relying on hearing.
Audio Descriptions: Audio descriptions provide spoken narration of visual content, helping students understand what is happening in videos, images, or animations.
