Accommodations Toolbox: Vision
Accessing Content Visually
Vision features allow students to customize how content appears on their devices, making it easier for them to see and interact with it.
Magnification or Zoom In Features: Magnification tools turn a device into a digital magnifying glass. Students can zoom in on text, images, or physical materials like textbooks or whiteboards using the camera. Some tools can recognize and read text aloud or identify objects in the environment, supporting students who are blind or have low vision.
Display & Text Adjustments: Display settings guide students in personalizing how content appears on their screen. Options may include changing text size, bolding text, adjusting colors and contrast, reducing brightness, and simplifying visual backgrounds.
Screen Reader/Spoken Feedback: Screen readers provide spoken or braille feedback for what appears on the screen, allowing students to navigate devices using touch, keyboard, or braille displays.
