Classroom Makers Ambassadors

The rapidly growing interest in Classroom Makers has given birth to the Classroom Makers Ambassadors program, launched during the 2018-2019 school year.

REMC’s Classroom Makers program (#cmakers) provides local REMCs with maker training, curriculum and materials for local districts to support and expand STEM-related teaching and learning.  

Eighty-seven teachers participated in the inaugural year program, and another 79 educators are participating in the second year of the program. (See Ambassadors names below)

The Ambassadors participate in a wide-ranging variety of professional development events focused on Maker-style learning such as Lit and STEAM, Engineering, 3D Printing, Coding, Digital Creation, Connecting Makers to Assistive Technology and other relevant topics. Each Classroom Ambassador may also use this REMC SAVE Maker Buying Guide to select up to $400 of Maker related materials to enhance their Maker classroom. 

Teachers and administrators who are interested in working with a local Classroom Makers Ambassador should contact their local REMC to establish a plan of support, materials and training.

Each local REMC has multiple "maker" kits with tools educators can borrow for free to try-out out in their own classroom. (See list in blue box.) Teachers are encouraged to contact their local REMC to borrow kits and schedule training.
