9.1 Replacing Wall Plate with Rapid Run Plates

Basics

After troubleshooting AV wall plates, if you find the wall plate cannot be repaired, consider replacing older wall plates with a RapidRun AV system. RapidRun allows the cabling infrastructure in your system to adapt to new acquisitions, new components, and new technologies. It is available with a wide-variety of AV plugins. The RapidRun system carries multiple signals over a single runner cable saving money, space, and installation time. Cables are color-coded and require no tools, soldering, or splicing. They can be pulled through a 3/4-inch conduit and can tolerate a 90-degree turn. They are rated for 15 pounds of pulling tension. If you are responsible for purchasing RapidRun AV Wall Plates, the C2G website gives a  breakdown of how to choose a RapidRun AV system
