Connect With Class Dojo

ClassDojo connects teachers with students and parents to build amazing classroom communities by creating a positive culture. Teachers can encourage students for any skill or value — whether it is working hard, being kind, helping others, or something else. Teachers can also post Class Stories or send group or individual messages. Class Dojo also gives students a voice and can post pictures, videos, drawings, and text within their Class Dojo Portfolios.

Steps
Directions for this activity:
-
Have students log into Google Classroom or other LMS and click on the link for this website. They will enter the class code. They will now be able to communicate directly to you and upload assignments into their Class Dojo Portfolio. If you teach older kids and they have cell phones, they can download the app on their phone.
-
Send out an email or reminder for parents to sign up for Class Dojo also. This will be great to send pictures or even chat individually with parents. Students can also upload their work into their student portfolios.
-
Students can also respond individually to the teacher with questions they may not feel comfortable asking in front of the class. This is great for shy students.
Assessment Options
Different options for assessing the students:
- Observations
- Check for understanding
- This provides feedback to parents on how well students are doing in class. Teachers, parents, and students can message or email each other.
