Sarah Wood honored with Making IT Happen Award

The REMC Association of Michigan is pleased to honor Sarah Wood with the 2024 Making IT Happen award. This prestigious award honors outstanding educators and leaders who demonstrate extraordinary commitment, leadership, courage and persistence in improving digital learning opportunities for students. Since its inception, more than 500 educators from around the world have received the award.

The Doodle For Your Noodle project was created to provide training and resources promoting a unique note taking technique that helps adults and kids to organize and retain information in a more creative and engaging way. Ms. Wood has been instrumental in creating and designing numerous training sessions as well as curating resources to support educators. In addition, she has been a key presenter and trainer of the project helping teachers throughout the state further their sketchnoting abilities..

Ms. Wood serves as an Educational Technology Consultant for Kent Intermediate School District supporting schools in the Grand Rapids area.  She is also a leader and contributor on the RITS Bits Podcast and has created and shared numerous materials on choice boards, virtual rooms and SEL playground. She is a Google Certified Educator and Coach and serves as the Digital Marketing and Design Specialist for the Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning (MACUL);

As the winner of the Making IT Happen award, she received a jacket, award certificate, a one-year ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) membership, ISTE recognition and an invitation to the awards ceremony at the ISTE conference.
