30-minute webinars help you meet ADA compliance
REMC is hosting unique trainings focused on making websites and digital files accessible following the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines! The ADA Webinars are designed for secretaries and administrative assistants, yet helpful and available to anyone.
They teach practical strategies to ensure accessibility, as meeting ADA compliance is becoming a requirement for all schools within the next two years. These sessions are FREE, interactive and timely to guarantee you can translate topics immediately to your sites and documents.
For your convenience, these 30-minute webinars are grouped into a series on five different topics, and feature a morning session at 9:00 a.m. and an afternoon session at 1:00 p.m. for each date! You can participate in one topic, or all five!
Sessions and Dates:
ADA 101: Websites - Why Is This Important: This session explores why accessibility matters, demonstrates common barriers through real-world examples, and introduces a simple checklist to help participants consider ADA accessibility before publishing any digital content on September 14th.
ADA Websites Part 1: This session explains common accessibility barriers, such as visual and auditory barriers, demonstrates how screen readers navigate websites, and introduces various methods for checking a website's accessibility on September 16th.
ADA Websites Part 2: This session explores accessible color use, meaningful alt text for images, and the use of captions and transcripts to create more inclusive video and audio content on September 21st.
ADA Websites Part 3: This session explores how to create accessible headings, structured lists, descriptive links, and compliant tables that improve usability and support assistive technologies on September 23rd.
