The 4th Student Podcast Challenge is ON!

Calling all creative classrooms across Michigan! REMC is excited to team up once again with the Michigan Association of School Librarians (MASL) and MACUL to launch the 4th Student Podcast Challenge - and we want your students to be part of it!

Whether it's a solo storyteller or a dynamic team of audio producers, this is an opportunity for students in grades 5–12 to shine. Submit a student-created podcast that explores ideas, tells stories, or shares something meaningful. Entries can come from individuals or teams, but must be submitted by the teacher (teachers can submit multiple entries).

Two Age Categories. Three Prizes. Infinite Possibilities.

Submissions will be judged in two divisions: Middle School (Grades 5–8) and High School (Grades 9–12). Judging criteria includes:

  • Information quality
  • Structure and storytelling
  • Creativity
  • Production and sound

Top entries in each age group will win podcasting equipment, gain statewide recognition and have the chance to inspire other students across Michigan. More importantly, they’ll grow their communication skills, creativity and confidence.

All entries must be submitted by midnight on October 31st. Visit here for full contest details and the submission form. In addition, REMC has built a toolkit of free educator resources to help you integrate podcasting into your classroom:
