REMC and MDE are looking for innovative High School Teachers

Are you a HS teacher who gets excited to collaborate, create and make an impact? We’re seeking eight high school educators - two each from ELA, math, science, and social studies to help create standard-aligned resources that connect computer science to content areas.
We are accepting applications to be a part of this unique opportunity to help shape the future of integrated learning in Michigan.
A major shift is on the horizon for Michigan high schools! By the 2027–28 school year, all high schools must offer at least one in-person computer science course. The REMC Association of Michigan, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education, is stepping up to support this transformation through the Pathways to CS Integration Project. The Pathways to CS Integration Project will develop resources to help districts meet this new requirement while making computer science meaningful and accessible for all students.
Accepted applicants will collaborate with a dynamic, diverse team of educators to create 3-4 instructional lessons or units that are both CS and content-aligned. The completed work will be presented at MACUL 2026 - conference and travel expenses will be covered, and participants will also be provided a stipend for time and contributions. You do not need to have prior computer science experience. Training will be provided in Michigan CS standards, Open Educational Resource (OER) and ADA compliance.
Don’t wait - apply now and help your statewide colleagues meet this new CS requirement.
