Q1 Skills

11. Powerful Presentations

THIS QUEST IS BEING REVISED August 2024. Thank you for your patience.

Introduction

Based on feedback from students and teachers, we know that many students already know how to create slide show presentations. The purpose of this Quest is to provide an opportunity for you to identify your  level of 'slide-show expertise' and to identify different skills that you may want to learn or review.

This Quest provides an opportunity to:

  1. Review a checklist of basic and intermediate skills for creating a "slide-presentation" in: Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Canva.
  2. As you go through the checklists, you will be able to identify some skills that you may not be familiar with.
  3. You are encouraged to identify learning goals, and use the links provided to resources and tutorials for learning or reviewing the different skills.
  4. You are also encouraged to consider using available classroom resources. Your teacher and classmates are also valuable learning resources.

I Can Statements

  • can set personal learning goals for improving skills in using a presentation application
  • can identify and use appropriate learning resources to help meet the goals
  • can apply digital tools in designing, creating, and delivering a presentation

CHECKLIST Directions

The checklists and learning resources are located on the sub-pages as labeled.

Check with your teacher and select the Menu Item that matches the application (Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Canva) that you will be using. The checklists and learning resources are located on the sub-pages as labeled.

As you go through the Checklist of skills, you will identify some skills that you would like to review, improve, and or learn. A list of these will be provided as your personal skill learning goals at the end of the checklist.

Learning Resources are provided that will include tutorials and/or helpful documentation.
