Q3 Social Media Introduction
Introduction
Many social networks are using features that appeal to teens who believe their text and images are private or anonymous. Social media sites, such as Facebook. Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok can be a lot of fun to use and good for a laugh, but it's more important than ever to understand that even on these types of sites, your online behavior can create misunderstandings, misinformation, put yourself in potentially dangerous situations, and/or harm to others.
Remember that your posts can be traced back to you. Inappropriate behavior such as bullying, sexting and harassing behavior can be investigated and traced to the user who posted it. Pictures that you think will disappear can actually be saved by a screenshot done by the receiver.
In this Quest, it is critically important that you only access social media networks if you are of the legal age allowed and have your parent or guardian's permission.
Check with your teacher about continuing with this Quest.
You will look at the potential consequences of sharing on social networks that appeal to individuals, such as Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram.
