In this activity, you will use an interactive website to learn about the following:

  • Online safety.
  • Protection against cyberbullying.
  • Dealing with cyberbullying.

Step 1. Play the video, Is it Cyberbullying? (3:11) from stopbullying.gov.

Step 2. Select and open the link to Online & On Guard...Is it Cyberbullying? 

  • Please read the information and select the Let’s get started! icon.

Step 3. The first activity presents definitions of 4 types of social interactions 

  • Review each definition and think about 1. If you agree, 2. Can you think of one or more examples?
  • Select the Continue button when done.

Step 4. Each of the following seven scenario pages will present a drag-and-drop activity. Use the Next button when done with each page. HINT: Have fun exploring all the answer choices (highly recommended).

Step 5. The final step is to work with a small group to create a list for a Bully-Free Zone Agreement.  

  • Consider doing a brainstorming process, organizing your ideas, reaching a consensus, and being ready to present your final list to the rest of the class.

Step 6. Check with your teacher about sharing your agreement with the class and see if you can print it out.
