Assessment

Assessments with 21t4s

There are multiple levels of assessment in the 21 Things 4 Students. Answers and access are provided here for the quizzes and assessment bank of questions.

  • Assessment Bank- An assessment bank of questions is available in the content box below. It contains questions used for ProProf questions (from the graduation page quizzes) and additional questions by Thing and Quest level.
    • Pre and Post assessments: The purpose of the assessment bank is to provide question resources for teachers that can be used for class pre-and post-assessments.
  • Digital Portfolios of Work - Please see the Student Showcase Portfolio page and information. We have provided a template on the first page of each Thing that can be downloaded as a Google slide or Microsoft PowerPoint file. Career Prep has a separate portfolio on the 16.Q2 Career Match: Portfolio page.

  • ProProf Quizzes  - Located on the graduation page of each Thing, these are hosted at proprofs.com. Each graduation page provides directions and the password to use to take it. Students only need to enter their initials. The content box below contains additional information.

  • Quizlets - Vocabulary Quizlets are provided that cover the entire set of vocabulary for all of the Quests in a Thing and also individual Vocabulary Quizlets for each specific Quest. For additional information refer to the content box below.

FYI

To meet a need expressed by educators wishing to use our bank of questions by "Thing," we created a master bank of questions. The question bank is in a spread sheet that can be copied, and then edited as desired. You can use the quiz bank for both pre- and post- assessment for each of the individual 21things.

The Master Test Bank is being updated 2025-26 and will be linked here when completed.

We encourage you to have students complete their work through an electronic portfolio..

Visit the Student Showcase Portfolio page for additional details.

Following are some suggestions from teachers using this project:

1. Web-based portfolio using free web page resources such as Weebly, or student web pages your district provides. Please make sure these pages are either password protected or your students do not provide their full name and contact information.

2. Google Docs portfolio shared with you.

3. Word Processing program used as an ePortfolio, keeping screenshots or samples of each of the artifacts for the Quests they complete.

4. Students can alternatively save their work on a local network drive the district provides, or their own medium, such as a flash drive. portfolio options

PROPROFs Multiple choice quizzes for the 21things4students are located on each "Thing Graduation Page".

These ProProfs are multiple-choice quizzes covering information across all the Quests in a Thing. Students can check their understanding of either the terms used or specific information presented. Please view the short video on the Teacher Start page for a tour of the Quiz.

Logging Into the Quiz: The student uses the link provided, which takes them to a login page for ProProfs. They enter a name or initials which is not saved, and the password provided to them on the graduation page. They can retake these as many times as they wish. The password is always the first name of the Thing plus 21. Example: Cloud Management quiz password is cloud21.

Quiz Process: The questions automatically move to the next one as they pick their answer. They select submit when done.

The Results begin with this message:
"If you scored 70% or higher you will have a certificate of achievement.
Use the TRY AGAIN button to improve your score.

1. It helps to look at any questions you missed (if any).
2. Set a learning goal and try to improve your score.
3. Check with your teacher to see how they want you to share your results."

Note: Students receive a one page report that shows only the questions they missed along with the correct response.

Saving the results: The report page contains an icon that allows them to print (to PDF) their report, or print it.

Quiz answers: Refer to the 21T4S Assessment Bank for questions and answers as needed.

Key Vocabulary Pages and Quizlet

Complete "Thing" Vocabulary Matching Quizlets: These are provided on the Main Thing page and the Graduation page  that includes the entire list of vocabulary covered in all the Quests of that Thing. These may be used as a pre and post-assessment of the vocabulary.

Quest specific Vocabulary Quizlets: Each Quest includes a page with the vocabulary matching game.  Be aware that the students do have the ability to change to other modes but these were only designed for the matching mode of play.

The students can click on the Quizlet link to play the matching game. Quizlet has many different options for learning vocabulary. Teachers can also create an account and combine the vocabulary Quizzes if they would like to assess the students on vocabulary in multiple Things.
