Q4 Shortcuts: Keyboard Shortcuts

1. Basics

Introduction

Since there are lots of different devices, apps, and operating systems (OS), the fastest way to figure out the shortcuts for your device is to do a quick search.

While completing the next activity, in your web browser, try search prompts like:

  • “How do I…?”
  • “What are the keyboard shortcuts for [your device/app]?

KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS ACTIVITY

Step 1. Open and make a copy of 1.Q4 Keyboard Shortcuts Document

Reminder: Google users must be logged into their Google email account, go to File>Make a Copy, and save it to their Drive. Microsoft Users can use File>Download to save as a Word Document.

Step 2. Complete the table in the document.

  • Think about other things that you do a lot on your computer.  If that action is not listed in the table, add it in the blank spaces.

Step 3. Compare your results as a class or with a partner (check with your teacher).

  • Are there some shortcuts that others in the class have that you do not?  If you think you would use those shortcuts, add them to your table.

Step 4. As a homework assignment teach three or more shortcuts to someone else (family, friend, relative) and add that to your document.
