Q1. What is Design Thinking? Process

15. Design Thinking

Design Thinking Process

A model of the design thinking process is shown as a 5-step process. These steps are not necessarily in the order people will follow; sometimes, you must jump back and forth between steps.

For example, if someone cannot complete an accurate test of their solution, they may need to jump back to the prototype stage to make a new mock-up to test. We’ll use this model to guide the design thinking process. A design thinking process can help you solve some of the most complex or silly problems.

KEY CONCEPTS

  • Design Thinking is a process for creating solutions for people's needs.
  • There are 5 different stages in the Design Thinking process, but they are not always followed in any order and may need to be repeated multiple times (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test).

DESIGN THINKING PROJECT

Step 1. Assemble your team.

Step 2. Select the team member that will download or copy the document.

Step 3. Make sure it is saved and shared with your team and teacher.

Step 4. In the Design Thinking Digital Workbook, complete the Quest 1: What is Design Thinking slides 1, 2, 3, & 4 as posted in the image below.
