18. Digital Storytelling

Introduction

Digital storytelling is one of the greatest ways to share and present your story using various media to enhance it. Digital stories can include images, photos, audio, and video. Your task in this Thing is to research digital story examples, learn about four types of stories, research story topic ideas, and create your own digital story.


Learning Objectives

When you have completed this Thing, you will:

QUEST 1: PROCESS - Explore the seven elements of a digital story and four types of digital stories.

QUEST 2: FIND YOUR STORY -  Identify three topic ideas, get feedback from a classmate, and select and research your digital story topic.

QUEST 3: CRAFT YOUR STORY - Create a hook for your story, select the type of digital story you will create, use a planning document to outline the key elements of your story, and create a storyboard.

 QUEST 4: GATHER MEDIA - Gather and/or create your media elements for your digital story.

QUEST 5: FINALIZE IT! - Select a platform to create your digital story.

Gold PSA Quest - Tell your story as a Public Service Announcement (PSA) using a cartoon or infographic.
