19. Buyer Beware

INTRODUCTION

Buying and selling on the Internet has changed the way we live. We can now perform a web search to locate, compare, and buy goods and services. You are going to investigate e-commerce as a consumer and learn some tips on how to shop online, avoid Internet fraud, and benefit from reviews and ratings.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 QUEST 1: COMPARE PRODUCTS

You will compare the specifications of different devices, compare product features, and select the best choice for your classroom based on features and cost.

You will investigate ads and marketing. You will learn how advertisers use many different techniques to persuade you to purchase their product or service. You will learn about slogans and how they are used to remind people of the value of the brand being sold.

You will have fun learning about common scams. Learn how to protect yourself, family, friends, and pets. Outsmart the scammers!
