6. Use this Scams Spotting Email Assignment Handout and work alone or with a partner and identify all the red flags that indicate the email is fraudulent and is a scam.
Based on what you learned in Quest Two about advertising and this one about scams, work in a small group to create your own scam.
- Create a poster (infographic, drawing, or as suggested by your teacher) to advertise your scam to your classmates.
- Then present your scam to the class for feedback for a vote on the best scam.
7. Hackers: Now that you know about scams, what about hackers? Play the PBS video "The Secret Lives of Hackers" from Nova Labs (3:01) to learn more about it. Have a class discussion:
- Have you or do you know of anyone who has been the subject of hacking?
- What do you think you should do if you think you or a family member are being hacked?
