Cybersecurity Lab
The Cybersecurity Lab is a game where you become the tech boss of a new social media company and work to protect it from hackers. You’ll complete fun challenges to learn how to stay safe online, spot scams, build stronger passwords, and try simple coding. As attacks get harder, you’ll earn tools to defend your network and keep your company secure. Along the way, you’ll also watch short videos and learn real cyber terms to help you understand how cybersecurity works in the real world.
Step 1. Read through the NOVA Cybersecurity Glossary of Terms so that you are ready for the lingo in the game.
Step 2. Think about all you have learned about staying safe online in Quests 1 - 6. Discuss as a class or with a partner.
Step 3. Check with your teacher to see if you will be creating a NOVA account or using Guest mode (progress will not be saved in guest mode).
Step 4. Time to play the game. Work through all levels or in parts as instructed by your teacher. You may want to take notes in your portfolio about best practices you encounter while playing the game.
