A Career & Budget

First Round
n this activity, you will be taking a look at what the salary is for a randomly generated career. You will then have to create a monthly budget based on that salary.

  1. Copy or download the 16.1 Claim Your Fame Student Recording Page.
  2. Read through the document so you understand the directions prior to starting the simulation.  If you have any questions prior to starting, check with your teammates and then your teacher.
  3. Go to the Claim Your Future page to play the Career & Budgeting Game.
  4. As you play the simulation, record your choices and outcomes on the Recording Page you copied in #1 above.
  5. After you have completed the simulation and the recording document, check with your teacher about turning in the recording document.

Second Round
Now that you have an understanding of what is needed for the career that was assigned to you, play the game a second time. Pick a career of your choice by clicking on the FAME icon to go back to the home page. In the drop down on the right hand side, select a career that is interesting to you.

  • How does the career choice impact your monthly finances?
