Your teacher will help you form a small team to work with on this presentation project.
- The objectives of this presentation project are to improve and practice your collaboration, communication, organizational, and technical skills. It is important to review the attributes of being a constructive team member to have a successful experience.
- Qualities of being a Great Team Member Activity
- Each student: Make a copy or download the Qualities of Great Team Members.
- Play each of the videos provided and complete the tables:
- GROUP table for Group Work/Social Skills.
- Qualities of Team Members (RCSP) table.
- Reflect on the different qualities you can bring to the team and complete the section on the last page of the Activity.

How is a Group different than a Team?
Is there a difference between being part of a group or part of a team?
| Group: A group is a collection of students that coordinate their efforts (e.g. meeting for lunch in the cafeteria). Success is based on each individual (e.g. if each student arrives on time). | Team: A team is a group of students who share a common goal (e.g. working on an assignment or project). Success is based on the combined efforts of the members to meet the goal. | |
| Advantages: The group is efficient, and each person can have separate goals. | Advantages: A team is good for problem-solving, encouraging, or helping each other. Teams frequently can be more productive. | |
| Disadvantages: Individuals can alienate others, and it may lack an organizational goal. | Disadvantages: Team members do not always participate equally and may struggle with making decisions. |
