Step 2: After playing the 6 Degrees of Information video think about how to answer this question:

  • How can you verify the credibility of a website or social media account?

Step 3: Discuss with a partner or small group:

  • What are some strategies to identify and avoid online scams or misinformation?
  • What are the potential consequences of sharing false information online, and how can you prevent it?
  • How can you use critical thinking skills to evaluate the credibility of a news article or online source?

Step 4: Discuss as a class:

  • Something you discussed with your partner or group that is important to keep in mind when online.
  • How can you apply what you learned to your own online activities?

Step 5: Take 10-15 minutes to take action individually, with a partner, or as a class about one thing you feel is important about a Digital Footprint, perhaps for a younger sibling or older adult family member. Be creative in your thinking.
