Do you have a digital footprint?
Step 1. Play the following short segment of the video, "6 Degrees of Information" from Real-Life Stories at Netzsmartz, to discover some of the things that can be discovered about your interactions online.

Step 2. After playing the 6 Degrees of Information video, think about how to answer this question:
- How can you verify the credibility of a website or social media account?
Step 3. Discuss with a partner or small group:
- What are some strategies to identify and avoid online scams or misinformation?
- What are the potential consequences of sharing false information online, and how can you prevent it?
- How can you use critical thinking skills to evaluate the credibility of a news article or online source?
Step 4. Discuss as a class:
- Something you discussed with your partner or group is important to remember when online.
- How can you apply what you learned to your online activities?
Step 5. Take 10-15 minutes to take action individually, with a partner, or as a class about one thing you feel is important about a Digital Footprint, perhaps for a younger sibling or older adult family member. Be creative in your thinking.
- Create an image, a flyer, create a skit, do a role-play, create a short video clip, etc.
