Q3 Present and Publish: PowerPoint Slides
Desktop App
FINALIZING YOUR PRESENTATION WITH THE POWERPOINT DESKTOP APP
Benefits of using the Desktop app version of Microsoft 365 PowerPoint
The Desktop App has more features than the online version. There are more advanced and complex editing and formatting features and customization options with design elements, animation effects, and layouts not present in the online version. The main advantage of using the online version is the ability to collaborate in real time and provide additional accessibility.
Explore and then complete your presentation using some of the different options for sharing and collaborating, publishing, presenting, rehearsing, and recording your presentation on this page.
SHARING YOUR PRESENTATION
- To share your presentation with others select the Share icon on the menu bar.
- If it hasn't been saved to OneDrive yet, you will be prompted to upload it. Then, share it from your OneDrive location. You can also save it to your school network drive or save it to your desktop and attach the file to an email.
- You will want to consider the sharing rights, whether to provide only commenting or viewing rights, or provide editing permissions.
COLLABORATING
- To collaborate live with others you will have to use it in the cloud (OneDrive) and invite others to edit it, or make comments.
- By sharing a link to it in a shared space such as OneDrive or school network, others will be able to access the latest version whenever you make a change.
- If you want feedback from others, provide commenting rights..
PUBLISHING YOUR PRESENTATION
- Select the FILE menu and EXPORT to view the options available with your device. These are the file type options with a laptop: PDF, video (MP4, MOV), images (BMP, JPEG, TIFF, PNG), Animated GIF, Rich Text document (.rtf), and two PowerPoint add-ins (.ppam, .ppa).
- Please select the FILE menu and SAVE as... to save it as a PowerPoint presentation (.ppt or .pptx), Template (.potx), or as a Show (.ppsx).
PRACTICE, REHEARSE, AND RECORD YOUR PRESENTATION AND USE AN AI-COACH
Microsoft PowerPoint has a dynamic feature that helps you practice presenting. You can rehearse the timing for your slides, practice narrating your presentation, your pacing, tone, and word choices. You can also record your presentation, and get feedback from the AI-powered Presenter Coach.
