Q1 Plan & Tailgate: Brainstorming

2. Visual Learning

Brainstorming the Adventure

Task 1. With a partner or small group, brainstorm everything your group might need for a successful theme park adventure.

  • Use the brainstorming rules you learned and your chosen digital tool to create a mind map with “Successful Theme Park Adventure” in the center or on the top, depending on the style of mind map you decide on.
  • Add shapes, colors, and branches for categories such as… oh, that is your job…
  • Include everyone’s ideas, build on one another’s thinking, and do not judge ideas until the brainstorming is complete.

Be prepared to share your final graphic organizer (mind map) based on your teacher’s instruction.

Brainstorming The Tailgate Food.

Task 2. Continue to work with your same partner or small group. Food and drinks were probably a couple of the needs included in your Brainstorming the Adventure mind map. Since food inside a theme park can be expensive, your group plans to bring a tailgate lunch and put the money you save toward fast passes!

  • Brainstorm items and their ingredients that everyone will enjoy, and that can be stored safely (keep cool and not smashed) on the bus while you explore the park.
  • Keep in mind, there are items that may have to be made at home to take with you.
  • Don’t forget: prep and cleanup.
  • Use a graphic organizer to brainstorm as many tailgate ideas as possible. Organize your ideas into clear categories using shapes and connecting lines.

Be prepared to share your final graphic organizer (mind map) based on your teacher’s instruction.
